Learning Ministry Team
Mission Statement
In partnership with the community of faith and brethren ministry teams of St. Luke Union Church, the Learning Ministry Team will support the growth and development of a deep, personal and transforming relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, Christian education, and service.
The Learning Ministry team is responsible for all aspects of education and learning activities in the church. These include Christian education for adults, children and teens, youth group activities, confirmation classes, programs to introduce people to Christianity, researching and developing a picture of the church community and its beliefs, education on life issues, orientation of new leaders, Bible study (including leadership team studies), and dissemination of information about our structure and the denominations' hierarchies.
Our task forces include Open And Affirming, Youth, Garden, Vacation Bible School and Alpha. Other task forces are formed for projects as needed.
Vision & Ministry Council members on the Learning Ministry Team for 2006 are Ruth Trower and Joe Harroun. Other members of the team are Pastor Beth Wagner, staff resource, and Marsha Hinthorn, Doug Ferrier, Dede Verplaetse, Lori Blankenship and John Otto.
Adult Education opportunities have been expanded considerably in the past few years.
Family Ministry includes youth and parents together. |
