Vision & Ministry Council
The Vision and Ministry Council of St. Luke Union Church is comprised of twelve members elected by the voting members of the congregation. Included are two youth members. Additional members include the Pastors and Parish Associates (ordained clergy). The Council meets monthly to review the general business of the church, and most importantly, to foster communication and interaction, as well as to assure that we remain focused on God’s mission for our church.
The Council members form and participate on various ministry teams which focus on key areas such as caring and outreach, learning and education, worship, and resources. Various task force groups are then established to address both long and short term projects. This promotes congregational involvement and the wise use of talents and resources as we strive to know and become all that God intends. In Christ, we are chosen and enabled by the Spirit of God to courageously and confidently demonstrate the gifts of the Spirit.
Building on our heritage founded in both the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Church of Christ, St. Luke Union Church strives to be a sign, foretaste and instrument of God’s kingdom; the ultimate expression of God’s love for humankind.
